UPRAA is a 501 (c) 3 not for profit organization created to establish a network of UPR Alumni and friends in the Continental United States and abroad, develop and conduct programs and initiatives for the benefit of our membership, and support the educational goals of the University of Puerto Rico educational system, which currently includes 11 campuses: Aguadilla, Arecibo, Bayamón, Carolina, Ciencias Médicas, Cayey, Humacao, Mayaguez, Ponce, Río Piedras, and Utuado.  The Association serves as a link between UPR alumni abroad and the University of Puerto Rico system and works towards promoting opportunities and creating a support network for the alumni.

Our primary purpose is to establish an organization in which University of Puerto Rico Alumni and Friends located in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area converge in fraternal union to foster common interests, support charitable and scholarship programs, and promote the educational goals of the University of Puerto Rico system.  As we develop the organization, we will endeavor to expand our reach beyond the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
