Lead Marketing Communication Specialist – Multicultural Outreach

Freddie Mac is seeking an experienced marketing communications professional to develop multicultural customer/employee communications plans that promote Freddie Mac products and services and support the achievement of corporate business strategies targeted to multicultural audiences. Develop communications materials for customers to support product rollouts. Develop internal materials to provide guidance and instruction to sales staff. Develop materials to support co-branding initiatives for individual customers. Work with management, sales, legal, and other business units to identify customer needs, solicit feedback on communication materials, and develop positioning. Write, edit, and oversee production of internal and external communications materials. Create, manage, and execute marketing communications plans, especially those that support outreach to the Latino, African American and Asian audiences. This individual will ensure that the company is employing the appropriate messages, correct language and visuals that appeal to the intended cultural segment.
Must be able to demonstrate ability in developing and implementing strategic marketing communications plans targeted to multicultural markets (samples required). Excellent oral and written communications skills with ability to shift from promotional to web writing styles as needed. An ability to work at all levels of an organization and to develop extensive network of relationships where current in-house multicultural data exists. An individual who is bilingual in English and Spanish extremely beneficial.
Position could eventually require management of staff and willingness to assign and monitor work performance. Job requires a Bachelor degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or Business Administration or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired; seven years of experience in creating, writing, and editing marketing communications materials; project management and customer service experience; experience in the secondary mortgage field helpful but not required.

Job Description
POSITION: Program & Development Director
SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the President of the National Hispana Leadership Institute (NHLI)
PRIME FUNCTION: This position is instrumental in assisting the NHLI President in the direction of the Institute’s Core Leadership Programs and fundraising activities. Coordinate all activities of a four-week national leadership program and youth program and assist in the development of new ones; maintain alumnae relations. The selected incumbent will maintain current funders informed on NHLI activities and collect, review, and analyze data to identify, cultivate and solicit individual, public, corporate, and foundation donors and prospects to create new funding opportunities, and establish and maintain communications with external stakeholders.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee, coordinate and direct all logistics of core leadership programs for NHLI. This includes coordinating outreach activities, recruitment, selection of program participants and alumnae relations.
- Establish and maintain communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Write proposals & foundation grants and identify & cultivate potential donors
- Collect, review, and analyze statistical data, evaluations of programs and other information to identify ways to improve NHLI core leadership programs.
- Develop detailed budgets for leadership programs and special events.
- Help the NHLI President with the day-to-day management of the Institute, a 501c (3) non-profit corporation.
- Appropriately represent NHLI standards and values at events and meetings and represent the vision and mission of NHLI.
NEEDED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5-8 year’s experience in program management, fundraising, media, and event planning. Experience may be used in lieu of education.
- Strong program management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Be detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding and exciting environment.
- Strong team player; works well under pressure
- Exceptional computer skills
- Willingness to travel
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Most of the work is indoors at the NHLI Headquarters located in Arlington, VA. Full time position of 40 hours but has the potential for comp time during NHLI event preparation and staging. Travel expected with this position. Ability to lift 50 pounds.

SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the President of the National Hispana Leadership Institute (NHLI).
PRIME FUNCTION: Organize, oversee and coordinate all logistics of NHLI regional and national conferences, special events, board meetings and leadership programs. Incumbent will plan and coordinate every detail of meetings and conferences, including the speakers, the meeting locations, arranging for printed materials, audio-visual equipment, catering and working with the media.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Search for prospective meeting sites/venues, write & review proposals to include: hotels, convention centers, or conference centers. Review proposals submitted by prospective sites/venues and make recommendations to NHLI President/CEO for final selection.
- Arrange all support services and set up all forms of electronic communication needed for meetings and conferences.
- Negotiate contracts with facilities and suppliers.
- Establish and maintain internal and external relationships with all stakeholders.
- Coordinate the recruitment, marketing and registration process for every event
- Develop, collect and analyze evaluations for each event to measure and define level of success.
NEEDED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and 3-5 years event planning experience
- Must be able to work independently, be motivated and a self-starter
- Exceptional communications and customer service skills
- Excellent written and verbal communications. Bilingual ability (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills, able to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The work is fast-paced and demanding. Incumbent will oversee multiple operations at one time, face numerous deadlines, and orchestrate activities of several different groups 0f people.
- The work will be performed at NHLI Headquarters located in Arlington, VA during non event days. During days leading up to and including the event the incumbent will be required to work on-site at hotels, convention centers or any other selected meeting sites.
- This is a full-time position (40 hrs/wk). Comp-time may be available during NHLI event preparation and staging.
- The work requires some physical activity, including long hours of standing and walking.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds as some lifting and carrying of boxes of materials, exhibits, and/or supplies is required
