Wendy Torres is an independent consultant providing Transition Assistance Program (TAP) Career Technical Training workshops in the National Capital Region.
Wendy has served in various government, academia, and private organizations. She facilitated the TAP workshops in accordance with the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) curriculum. These workshops include skills assessment, career decision making, labor market trends, job search strategies including networking and internet research, translating military skills to the civilian job market, resume preparation, interviewing strategies, dress for success, job offer and salary negotiations, and others. Wendy worked in the Department of Defense Chief Information Office coordinating the Army Information Technology Budget and implementing guidance from the Office of the Secretary of Defense and the Office of Management and Budget. She was also an Academic Counselor and later Adjunct Faculty for the University of Phoenix responsible for assisting students with enrollment, educational needs, research, and solving problems relating to educational goals. Wendy Torres is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Ponce. She holds a Masters of Business Administration. Wendy has been an UPRAA member since 2013.
